BRIDGEWATER – A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family for â€¨â€¨Robert J. Howard Sr., 58, formerly of West Hartford, who died Saturday, September 25, 2010 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Friends may call (today) Thurs-day, Sept. 30 at the Knight Fu-neral Home in White River Junc-tion from 6-8 p.m.
Bob was born Sept. 23, 1952 in Hanover, N.H., the son of John R. and Edith (Fogg) Howard.
He attended the Ottauquechee School and graduated from Hart-ford High School. He went on to receive an associate’s degree in agriculture from the Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, Vermont.
He spent several years working the family dairy farm before enter-ing the heating technical trade. He worked for numerous heating and propane companies over the years before starting Bob Howard Serv-ices in White River Junction in 1999 he continued to work until he was unable to work due to his failing health.
Bob had a passion for life, he enjoyed every moment whether he was working, hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his motorcycle, or snowmobile. Bob was always there to lend a hand when some-one was in need. His loss will leave a gap in the lives of those that knew him.
Bob is survived by his compan-ion, Melissa Walker of Bridgewa-ter; a daughter, Jennifer Hosmer and her husband Rodney Hosmer of Canaan, N.H.; two sons, Justin Howard and his wife Serena Best of West Hartford and Robert Howard Jr. of Holden, Mass; two grandsons, Jack Robert Howard and Owen Robert Hosmer; three sisters, Evelyn Luce of Hartland, Norma Flanders of Woodstock and Mary Leonard of Eliot, Maine; and a brother Adam How-ard of Thetford.
Bob is predeceased by his par-ents, and a brother Al Howard.
