WINDSOR – A memorial service for Cynthia “Cindy” C. Smith, 68, who died Nov. 27, 2010 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and healthcare Center in Windsor will be held in St. Cloud, Fl., at a later date.

Cindy was born Feb. 16, 1942 in Brattleboro, the daughter of Robert and Bessie (Johnson) Smith.

As a young girl she moved with her family to Windsor and later graduated from Windsor High School in 1960. She later graduated from Castleton State College in 1964 with a degree in teaching.

She began her career as a teacher in Hazardville, Conn., and later moved to St. Cloud, Fla. where she taught for 33 years until her retirement. She returned to Windsor in 2008, residing at the Davis House.

Cynthia was very active at the Episcopal Church of St. Luke and St. Peter in St. Cloud. She also had a love of animals, especially dogs and cats.

Cindy is survived by her brother, Gardner Smith and wife, Cathee, of Reading; a niece, Jody Hickey and husband Chad, of Cut Bank, Mont.; nephews, Mat-thew Smith and wife, Sheri, of Reading and Thomas “Woody” Smith and wife, Jennifer, of Lincoln, Calif.; two grand-nieces; and two grand-nephews; and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 300 Cornerstone Dr., Suite 120, Williston, 05495.
