ENTERPRISE, Ala.— Memorial services for Dennis H. Sargent, 65, who died Jan. 6, 2011 will be held at the VA Cemetery with full military honors in Randolph Center on Friday, May 6 at 9 a.m. first at the Chapel, then the grave site.
He was born Dec. 2, 1945, son of Hale and Evelyn Sargent, formerly of Windsor, who are both deceased.
Dennis spent 23 years in the Army between active duty and reserves. He was in the 173rd Airborne Division and received many awards and ribbons throughout his military career.
Dennis loved sports: Auburn University football, Red Sox Baseball and Celtics basketball.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Mrs. Jane Scott; three daughters, Stacey of San Anto-nio, Texas, Courtney of Birmingham, Ala., and Lindsley of Enterprise; one stepson, of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; and eight grand-children; two brothers, Gary Sar-gent of Richfield, N.J., and Philip Sargent of Barnard; and two sisters, Sandra Wells of Plainfield and Charlene Leonard of Hart-land.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Heart Association.
