A Thetford man who once served as treasurer for the Meccawe Club, a private fishing club in Bridgewater, has been accused of misappropriating the funds of several local non-profit organizations.
Bruce McAlllister, 78, of Thetford is scheduled for arraignment in a Burlington court Nov. 9.
The indictment alleges that McAllister wrote checks to himself, his wife and his business, Sugartop Sawmill, from accounts he kept for Dartmouth’s Alpha Theta House Corp. and the Meccawe Club, among others.
The charge of wire fraud points to more than $66,000 of transactions between the non-profits’ and McAllister’s personal accounts between November of 2006 and March of 2010.
