At a brief and quiet sentencing at Windsor District Court in White River Junction this afternoon, Charles “Punky” Haynes, Jr., of Bridgewater received a sentence of 20 years to life in prison. The sentence is in response to his guilty plea to the charges of second-degree murder and burglary in the July 1, 2009 murder of 78-year-old Raynetta Woodward at her house on Curtis Hollow Road in Bridgewater.
Haynes, 53, will be eligible for parole in 2031. He spoke briefly at the sentencing, offering words of condolence to members of Woodward’s family in attendance.
