Christmas Eve at Bethany Mennoite Church
Christmas Eve was a joyous time at the Bethany Mennonite Church in Bridgewater. Under the direction of Marcia Bender, Sharon Groblicki and Gwen Groff a performance of “Amahl and the Night Visitors” combined with the Christmas Story captivated the standing room only worshipers. At the conclusion of the pageant, the attendees sang a candle-lite version of “Silent Night” followed by hot cider and homemade cookies. The Annual Offering collected this year will be given to two groups helping community members recover from Tropical Storm Irene this past August: “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” and the “Plymouth Memory Tree Fund. o” Lots of cheer and song could be heard from this little building at the edge of the one-way temporary bridge in Bridgewater.
