A meeting planned to allow the public to weigh in on the proposed closure of the White River Junction mail processing facility has been rescheduled.
The US Postal Service had planned a public meeting on December 15th to weigh in on the facility’s closure, which would mean the loss of 245 jobs.
Senator Bernie Sanders asked the Postal Service to reschedule the meeting until after the busy holiday season, and they’ve agreed. The meeting is now planned for January 4th at 6p.m. at the American Legion in White River Junction.
Earlier this week, the postal service announced $3 billion in cuts that would slow first-class mail service, ending next-day deliveries of stamped letters, and the closure of a number of mail processing centers
