Location: The Woodstock Inn and Resort and Suicide Six Ski Resort
Expected Participation: 415 athletes and partners
Volunteers Needed: 300

General Schedule

Friday, March 9

9am-3:30pm School Unified Snowshoe Competition brings together athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities) with traditional learning individuals to train and compete on the same team

5:00 – 7:00pm Governor’s Reception – The Woodstock Inn and Resort- Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $250 per couple and directly supports Special Olympics Vermont’s Winter Games. 7:30- 9:00pm Opening Ceremonies – Woodstock Town Hall

Saturday, March 10

9:15 – 12:00pm Alpine/Snowboarding/Cross Country/ Snowshoe Competition

10:00 – 3:00pm Olympic Town – Upstairs in lodge and outside activities

12:00 – 1:00pm Cross Country/Snowshoe Lunch- Lodge

12:00 – 1:15pm Alpine/Snowboard Lunch – Lodge

1:30 – 4:00pm Alpine/Snowboarding Competition

1:00 – 4:00pm Cross Country/Snowshoe Competition

Sunday, March 11

9:00 – 12:30pm Alpine/Snowboard /Cross Country/Snowshoe Competition

Unique for 2012, we have the ability to send 3 athletes from Vermont to compete at the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in South Korea. The 2013 Special Olympics Winter World Games will be help January 26, 2013 – February 6, 2013 The events that we have quotas for are:

1 female – alpine skier

1 male – cross-country skier

1 male – snowboarder

Each athlete that fits the criteria above and wins a gold medal at the 2012 Special Olympics Vermont Winter Games will be eligible for selection.
