KILLINGTON — Memorial services for Elizabeth E. Hardy, 92, a former resident of Killington and Littleton, Mass., who died March 31, 2012 at Our House Residential Care Home in Rutland will be held Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at the Congregational Church, 330 King St. in Littleton, Mass.
She was born Feb. 5, 1920 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Chesley and Elizabeth (Fury) Elroy.
Mrs. Hardy attended Belmont High School and graduated from Bouvé College in Boston.
She was a longtime resident of Littleton, Mass., until relocating to Killington to live with her daughter in 2000.
Mrs. Hardy taught at Katherine Branson Schoolin Palo Alto, Calif.
She was primarily a homemaker who loved to be outdoors and enjoyed gardening, canoeing, swimming and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Dale Pfeifenberger and her husband Poldi of Killington; a son, Dana Hardy of Pepperell, Mass.; a sister, Gwendolyn Walsh of Staunton, Va.; four grandsons, P.J. Pfeifenberger and his wife Melanie Heather Brown of South Burlington, Gerald Pfeifenberger of Killington, Cory Hardy and his wife Jean Shephoff of Waltham, Mass., and Brett Hardy of Boston, Mass.; a great-grandson, Leo Pfeifenberger of South Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dana P. Hardy in 2006; also by a brother, Sunny Elroy in 1938.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter, 300 Cornerstone Drive, Suite 128, Williston, 05495.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home in Rutland.
