NEW LONDON, Conn. – Funeral service for David Ivon Wardwell, 64, who died at his residence Thursday, May 10, 2012 after a battle with cancer, were held May 14, St. James Episcopal Church in New London. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
He was born March 4, 1948 in Windsor, VT the son of Ivon F. and Ethelyn Chase Wardwell of New London.
David was currently employed by the State of Connecticut in the Special Revenue Dept.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Rocky Hill Post American Legion, and the American Pool Association. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he also enjoyed shooting pool and was a cigar aficionado collecting and enjoying cigars from all over the world.
David is a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Besides his parents he is survived by a son; Aaron J. Wardwell and his wife Tina of West Newfield, ME, a brother; Scott M. Wardwell and his wife Kathryn of Salem and five grandchildren; Ashley Wardwell of Norwich, Hailey and Isaac Wardwell of West Newfield,ME, Dawson Hambright and Kyle Hambright of Sanford, ME.
