He also enjoyed attending auctions, and watching horse and oxen pulls at all the regional fairs. Edward was a Boston sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots.
Edward was a member of The Windsor County Farm Bureau, and a life member of the Vermont Jersey Breeder Association, the New England Jersey Breeder Association and the American Jersey Cattle Association. He and his brothers received the Master Breeder Award in 1995. Edward was also a member of the White River Junction United Methodist Church.
