A funeral service for Helen Chase Davis, 95, who died Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., Vermont were held on May 15 at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock. Burial followed in the Prosper Cemetery.
Helen was born on January 4, 1917 in Quechee, the daughter of Homer Earl and Gladys (Barron) Chase.
She attended school in Quechee, Vermont.
She worked at the Harris Woolen Mill from 1933 to 1949, the Hartford Woolen Mill from 1949 to 1954, the North Montpelier Woolen Mill from 1962 to 1971, and the Lewis Book Bindery from1971 to 1979.
Helen married Webster Boyd Davis on June 25, 1948, Mr. Davis died in April of 2006.
Helen was a member of the Ora E. Paul American Legion Women’s Auxilary in Woodstock and the V.F.W. She loved to snowmobile, go to yard sales, crochet and knit.
Helen is survived by two sons; Raymond “Jack” Stillson and Boyd Davis; a daughter, Penny Davis, all of Woodstock; three step-daughters; Beverly Stevens, and Lucille Barrell, of Enfield, NH and Judith Shattuck of Claremont, NH; five grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen is predeceased by her parents; her husband; one son Roger “Panda” Stillson; and one step-son Webster Boyd Davis, Jr.; three brothers; Raymond, Eugene, and Leon; three sisters; Madeline Chase, Marjorie Churchill, and Leona Westover; and three step-grandchildren.
