PERKINSVILLE — The celebration of life service for Elsie J. Dodge, 69, who died June 30 at her home will be held Saturday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at Ascutney Union Church UCC, where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Rev. Michael Boy, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ascuentyville Cemetery.
She was born May 2, 1943 in Barnard, the daughter of Ariel H. and Lillian (Kelly) Gilman.
She graduated in 1961 as salutatorian of Whitcomb High School in Bethel and earned a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont in 1965.
ON June 18, 1968 she married Robert L. Dodge in Barnard.
Mrs. Dodge taught French at Windsor High School and in Hartland, and English as a second language in Claremont, N.H.
She was a member for Ascutney Union Church where she also sang in the choir.
She enjoyed gardening, singing, swimming, walking, baking, traveling and volunteering.
Survivors include her mother of Barnard; her husband of Perkinsville; three children, Christopher Dodge of Henniker, N.H., Deborah Winooski of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Jennifer Spano of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren; five siblings, John of Barnard, Robert of Florida, George, Henry, both of Salisbury, and Barbara Gilman of South Burlington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Dodge was predeceased by her father; and a grandson.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
