Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle accident at Mile Marker 66 southbound on I91 in Hartland Tuesday, July 10 at 8:04 p.m.
Nicholas Dowling for Windsor told police that he was approaching a construction zone and the right lane was closed, creating a single lane of traffic. Dowling said he swerved to avoid a silver SUV that was approaching a u-turn and Dowling had to swerve to avoid it. He then lost control of his car and went into the median while the SUV continued through the u-turn and traveled northbound.
The Vermont State Police remind drivers that use of u-turns by anyone by emergency vehicles is illegal and dangerous to motorists.
