QUECHEE – A memorial service for Lesley Jane O’Malley-Keyes, 57, Vice President & Publishing Director, Conde’ Nast Johansens, who slipped away gently on Tuesday, July 17 in the loving care of hospice at Mount Ascutney Hospital in Windsor will be announced at a later date.
Lesley was born on October 30, 1954, in South Hampton, England. She lived with her mother, Barbara Farley, into her early twenties; she then spread her wings to begin a wonderful and amazing life.
Lesley’s passion for adventure and travel began early and inspired her to explore interesting places all over the world. Her charming ability to communicate and engage others, in any culture or society, allowed her the freedom to explore places most could only dream about. She took great pride in learning intimate details about the cities and countries she traveled to, she then loved to share those experiences (over tea or a glass of wine) with anyone who was willing to listen. Lesley always loved the journey as much as the destination.
Her true gift, however, was in the way she could relate and speak with others. She was very kind, charming, confident, intelligent, compassionate and engaging. An amazing woman, talented and always interesting, a keen sense of humor, her infectious smile or giggle, could not only light up a room, but light up your heart as well. Lesley always spoke with integrity, conviction and honesty. Her dedication to family, friends and career were unwavering. She was loved and respected by all who came to know her.
Lesley leaves behind her partner and soul mate, Braxton L. Freeman, Jr.; brother, Robert Farley; niece Joanna (Farley) Slocombe; cousins Richard Jeneway, Janice Glogowski, and Susan Homer; her two cats and many good friends around the world.
She was predeceased by her mother Barbara Farley, in 2002; and her mother’s dear friend Phil.
Lesley and her family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to contribute in her honor please make a donation to the Lebanon Riverside Rotary Club, Lesley J. O’Malley-Keyes Memorial Fountain Fund, PO Box 5395, West Lebanon, NH 03784 or Dana Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or online www.dana-farber.org/
Funeral arrangements were made by Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. Online condolences may be left at www.cabotfh.com.

Leslie and I were friends on Cape Cod and enjoyed each others company often. I was even invited to inspect hotels in the Caribbean with Johannsens one summer as she started her many duties at the publication.

I had no idea she had passed until today. Many will think of her often- including me. Rest in peace Leslie.

Lesley will be very much missed, as a wonderful, warm person, and also as an avid Mexico fan.
