Rachel Cox will discuss and read from her book, Into Dust and Fire: Five Young Americans who went first to fight the Nazi Army, Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Norman Williams Public Library.
Growing up visiting her grandmother in Windsor, Cox became fascinated by the story of her uncle who was killed in 1943 in Tunisia. As a journalist, she set out to discover the whole story of his fate, tracking down interviews with school mates, journals and letters from relatives, and her uncle’s own words.
