A South Woodstock man has given a $100,000 grant to the Upper Valley Haven in honor of his late wife.

Alden Fiertz, whose late wife Beverly Fowle Fiertz was involved with Vermont Law School’s Poverty Law Services Program, is a Dartmouth graduate and Fowle Fiertz was Vermont Law School’s oldest graduate, receiving her JD degree at age 55. “Bev’s House” was dedicated Sunday at the Haven.

Fowle Fiertz ran a law practice in South Woodstock that served low-income victims of domestic abuse.
