WEST HARTFORD – There will be no services for Dwight “Cy” Houghton, who passed away on July 23 after a long battle with heart disease.
He graduated from Woodstock High in 1942, and then joined the Navy, where he served his country during World War II.
Returning home, he married his high school sweetheart and took a job at the Veteran’s Administration in White River Jct. where he became an adjudicator.
When he retired, after 30 years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodworking.
He leaves his wife, Norma Childs Houghton (married 68 years); two daughters, Valerie Houghton and Kelsie Bastis and her husband, Richard; a son, Michael Houghton and his wife, Beth; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and six great-grandsons.
He was predeceased by a son, Thomas.
Cy was a devoted husband and a loving father and we will miss him every day.
