Jeremy Baker, Communications and External Affairs specialist for Green Mountain Power, said this morning that last night’s outage, which lasted from about 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., was caused by a failed insulator at the substation near Maplefield’s in Woodstock.

“It affected over 3,000 customers  — a pretty significant number. Not something we like to have happen, but we were happy with how quickly it was worked on and were able to get it back up,” Baker said.

“I would also emphasize this was not a storm-related outage,” Baker said.
