BARNARD — A memorial gathering for Joanne Tabor, 72, of Barnard, who died early Saturday morning, August 25, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH., will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, September 1st at the Barnard Town Hall. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private at Silver Lake Cemetery in Barnard.
She was born July 19, 1940 in Lebanon, NH; the daughter of Albert and Hazel (Rogers) Davis.
A lifetime Barnard resident, she graduated from Woodstock High School.
She had worked at the Ward’s Store in Barnard, Woodstock National Bank, and for Clifford of Vermont.
Joanne enjoyed birdwatching, her cats, going to Maine, and being with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Simpson and husband, Jeff of Hartford, Penny Tabor and husband, Bill Howrigan of Williston, Karen Peterson and husband, Robert of Killington, and Suzy Rose and husband, Mark of Lebanon, NH; a sister, Jeanne Johnson and husband, Bruce of Rochester; four grandchildren, Christina Spriggs, Kyle Spriggs, Robbie Peterson, and Garrett Rose; and one great-grandchild, Diamonte Pough.
She was predeceased by one sister, Jeanette Summarsell.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Barnard Rescue Squad.
