HARTLAND FOUR CORNERS – A graveside service for Merrill L. Plimpton, better known as Bub, who passed away at his home Aug. 8th after a fight with cancer will be held Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Centennial Cemetery in Gilsum, N.H.
He was born May 24, 1939 in Gilsum, N.H son of Marshall Plimpton and Dorothy (Bolio, Plimpton) Parker.
He graduated from Keene High School in 1957, he worked in mining, was a machinist, did small engine repairs, served in the Air Force as a USAF Dispatch Operator and as a Vermont State Trooper.
He married Nancy C. Plimpton Nov. 23, 1957. Together they raised Lippitt Morgan horses.
Surviving family includes his wife, son Merrill Plimpton Jr., White River Jct, VT daughter Penelope Plimpton, Randolph, VT. Two granddaughters, Dusti Holbrook and Sarah Ballentine, three great-grand children, Paige, Tyler and Raegan. A sister Barbara Malony, Malborough, N.H. Nieces and Nephews
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Donald Plimpton.
