SHARON — There will be no public calling hours or funeral service for Stuart G. Robinson, 76, who died Oct. 23 at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.
He was born June 2, 1936, in Sharon, the son of Elmer F. and Eva (Royce) Robinson.
He attended school in Stafford and later in Thetford where he graduated from Thetford Academy in 1954.
On Aug. 30, 1959, he married Shirley Rikert in Sharon.
Stuart spent his entire life in the Robinson valley area of Strafford and Sharon. He was a truck driver for most of his life working for DeCato Brothers driving long haul and then delivering home heating oil for Irving Energy.
He was a passionate racecar fan, a crew chief for his grandson’s dirt track team racing at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford and Canaan, N.H. He enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, deer hunting, camping, back road trips and helping at the garage on the hill. He also enjoyed the time spent with his family and enjoyed giving the grandchildren nicknames. He loved walking with their dog, Amigo and later, liked watching the new dog, Buddy.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Robinson; a son, Stuart “Jack” Robinson and his wife, Donna; a daughter, Susan Durkee and her husband, John; five grandchildren, Sabrina, Donny, Jeff, Brian and Charlie; two brothers, Danny Robinson and Carl Robinson; a sister, Betty Brown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea.
