NORTH HARTLAND — A memorial service for Helen W. White, 80, who died Oct. 30, at her home, was held Nov. 3 at the North Hartland Community Church.
She was born Sept. 29, 1932 in Hanover, N.H., a daughter of Raymond and Helen (Eastman) Wyman.
They lived in Brownsville until she was six when they moved to North Hartland.
She graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1950.
Helen married Raymond White on Oct. 8, 1950. They moved to Burlington and then West Hartford, Conn., for a time. In 1957, they moved back to the family farm and took over the family turkey farm and started a dairy herd. Helen raised her family in the barn. She was as involved with the daily operations of the farm as she was with taking care of the family. In later years they wintered in the Deland, Fla for 11 years.
Helen and Raymond retired in 1991, and they stayed at the farm. Raymond died March 13, 2002.
Helen was an active member of the North Hartland Community Church. She kept her home open to all that wished to visit never turning anyone away with an empty stomach. She enjoyed selling Helen’s Figurines; she was a wonderful seamstress, a skilled baker, an artist of many mediums including tole painting and stained glass. But her greatest joy came from riding in her golf cart and mowing her lawn.
Survivors include a son, David White and his wife, Debbie of North Hartland; two grandsons, Daniel A. White and Matthew D. White and his wife, Heather; a great-grandson, Henry R. White; friend, Walter Morancy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Rodney White; a brother, John H. Wyman; and her twin sister, Ellen Robison.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of VT and N.H., PO Box 976, White River Jct., 05001 or the North Hartland Community Church, PO Box 27, North Hartland, 05052.
