Democratic members of Vermont’s Senate voted yesterday for John Campbell to remain in his position as Senate president pro tempore in the next legislative session. Campbell, who’s been in position for two years, was challenged by Democratic senator Ann Cummings of Washington County.
In a 15-6 vote, Dems endorsed Campbell, a Quechee resident, who was at odds with them in the spring over the childcare unionization bill that would allow child care workers to bargain collectively on rates.
The full senate is expected to vote on the position in January.
