A co-founder of the Killington Ski Area, Joseph Sargent, died Wednesday. Sargent was 83.
The ski area opened in December of 1958.
Sargent, Perry Merrill and Preston Smith helped create what is now the largest ski resort in the eastern U.S. after raising $80,000 from local donors.
