LANCASTER, Penn. formerly of Barnard — Services will be held at a later date for Doris H. Luxon, 88, who passed away on Dec. 21 and will long be remembered as a friend, and neighbor, Bible study leader, theologian, critic, hostess, debater, and source of many laughs.
Wife of 62 years, mother of four, grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of three, she always filled our family gatherings with her wit and charm, and with the love of her Heavenly Father who now welcomes her into his everlasting arms.
Doris was the wife of Herbert D. Luxon and surviving in addition to her husband are her children, H. Scott (Mary Angelucci) Luxon, Thomas H. (Ivy Schweitzer) Luxon, Cynthia Luxon (Douglas) Strong and Amy Luxon (David W.) Woods.
Doris worked as a secretary for A&P Food in New York City and Philadelphia, was a Kelly Girl, and was a receptionist at Stony Brook School. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Doris enjoyed drama, weaving, sewing, reading, and Bible study.
