Senator Patrick Leahy announced Wednesday that he will not take the seat as chair of the Appropriations Committee, saying in a statement, “Chairing the Judiciary Committee and maintaining my seniority on the Appropriations Committee will allow me to protect both the Constitution and Vermont.”
