QUECHEE — Downtown Quechee’s covered bridge will reopen to vehicular traffic on Saturday morning, Dec. 29, almost 16 months to the day after it was knocked out by Tropical Storm Irene.
A brief ribbon-cutting with thank-yous for the crews that worked throughout the construction season to get the span back into service will be held on the bridge at 10 a.m. and a larger, warmer public commemoration will be held on the Quechee Green this coming June.
Thursday’s edition of the Standard incorrectly reported the event taking place Saturday, Dec. 22.
