RUTLAND — A memorial service for Drury Allen Morgan, 45, who passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 28, will be held Saturday, Jan. 5 at Aldous Funeral Home in Rutland. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. with a service at 3:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the Thompson Senior Center in Woodstock at 5 p.m. A private family burial will follow in Newington, N.H.
Drury was born in Atlanta, Ga., she had lived in Vermont fort the past 10+ years. She was attending Stafford Technical Center in Rutland and was enrolled in the LNA program, due to finish in January 2013.
She was employed at Mendon Mountainview Lodge in Killington.
A lively, social woman who loved God, Drury had many interests, but none meant more to her than her family.
Survivors include a son, James Morgan, Jr., a senior at Woodstock Union High School; a sister, Laura Chandler of Dover, N.H.; a brother, John Ray, Jr. of Strafford, N.H.; nephews, Tyler and Jacob Ray of Strafford, N.H.; a niece, Lillie Chandler of Dover, N.H.; her partner, Andy Blanchard of Mendon; and many relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her mother, Judith Ray of York, Maine and her father, John Ray, Sr. of Lansing, Kansas.

I only new Dru from riding The Bus. She was such a joy to see and talk to on the bus. She was such a great person and I am saddened by the loss of Dru. My condolence to Drury’s family and Andy Blanchard

To Drury’s family and especially Andy B.
We were so very sorry to hear of Dru’s death and the loss of a loved one of all who are left. It is always a loss when someone dies, it is a special loss when one so young and vital is taken from us. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all.
