After extensive negotiations, the U.S. House Tuesday approved a bill late Tuesday that is hoped to avoid spending cuts and tax increases and extends unemployment benefits. The Bill passed by a count of 257-167, with 172 Democrats and 85 Republicans in favor and 16 Democrats and 151 against it.
