Services are being planned for later this spring for Joseph P. Mathews, Jr., 61, who died Jan. 21 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, Vermont.
He was born May 20, 1951 in Boston, Mass. the son of Joseph P. and Rita Brewster Mathews.
Joseph graduated from Avon Mass. High School in 1969 and attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts until moving to Woodstock in 1971. He was an dedicated to his art and was avid Harley rider. His spirit will live in the years of Harley riding by his friends.
He is survived by his mother, Rita DiRamio of Randolph, Mass., his sisters Paula Atwood, Hartland, Patricia Packard, Hanson, Mass., Julie Mathews Andalini of Ankara, Turkey, and his brother, Michael Mathews, Fredericksburg, Vir., as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father in 1997.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, 237 East Ave., Burlington, VT 05401
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT.
