WINDSOR — At her request, there will be no services at this time for Mildred L. “Mickey” Pfenning, 96, who died Dec. 31 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical center in Lebanon, N.H. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
She was born July 13, 1916, in Cornwall, and received her schooling in Cornwall.
She married Marshall N. Pfenning in Rutland, on Nov. 6, 1937. She and her husband were employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for 31 years. They both retired in 1971.
Mr. Pfenning died on March 20, 1993.
Mrs. Pfenning was a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor, and a member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Windsor. She and her husband prepared meals for the Windsor Rotary Club for several years. She also assisted with the Windsor Girl Scout Troop.
She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, playing cards, camping and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne E. Pfenning of Hartland, Frederick M. Pfenning of Martin, Tenn., and Paul W. Pfenning of Gilmanton, N.H.; a daughter, Judy Pfenning-Summarsell of Windsor; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
