RUTLAND — Memorial services will be held at a later date for Reginald P. Hill, 95, who died Dec. 25 at the Rutland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Rutland.
He was born December 18, 1917 in Newport, the son of Jerry and Mildred (Morce) Hill.
Reginald attended Newport schools and had served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He had lived in Newport, Bethel, Hancock and Rutland.
He was married to Helen White on December 30, 1944 in S. Royalton. Mrs. Hill died in 1984.
Reginald worked as a lumberjack in the logging business most of his life. He enjoyed going for rides and observing nature. He was a member of both the V.F.W. and American Legion in White River Jct.
He is survived by four daughters; Barbara Andrews of Hancock, Linda Smith of Bethel, Regina Ashley of Quechee and Bonnie Phillips of Rutland; a son Dennis Hill of Bethel; and many grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter Carol Lumbra; and a son Scott Hill.
