Funeral services for Lena T. Romano, 100, who died Jan. 30, at The Woodstock Terrace, was held Feb. 2, at Christ the King Church in Rutland.
She was born in Danby, Feb. 26, 1912, daughter of Antonio and Luigia (Brevetti) Garofano.
Lena married Francisco B. Romano at Christ the King Church in Rutland.
Mrs. Romano was a longtime Rutland resident, moving to Woodstock in 2011.
She worked as a Foster grandparent in the Rutland school system until the age of 92.
Mrs. Romano was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church in Woodstock and a former member of Christ the King Church in Rutland.
She enjoyed family, Italian cooking, fashion, music and gardening.
Surviving are two sons, Frank J. Romano and his wife, Elizabeth of Woodstock and Anthony Romano of Tucson, Az.; a sister, Amelia Bellski of Rutland; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francisco B. Romano on Jan. 11, 1955, a son, Robert Romano, daughter in law, Joyce Merrill Romano and 13 siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shelter The Homeless Committee, care of Our Lady of the Snows Church, P.O. Box 397, Woodstock, 05091.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
