WINDSOR — A memorial service for Sandra I. Hutchins, 78, a resident of Windsor who passed away Feb. 10 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center will be held Friday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at the North Hartland Community Church. Committal services will be held at a later date in the Rochester Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 20, 1934 in Rochester, the daughter of Vinal and Winona (Fish) Sutherland.
She received her schooling in Stockbridge and Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School. She later graduated form the Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington.
She married Bruce Hutchins on Aug. 31, 1958, in Rochester and they were later divorced.
She was employed as a registered nurse at the New Haven Hospital in New Have, Conn., and later at the former Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, N.H. She most recently was employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Jct., for 26 years until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of the North Hartland Community Church. She enjoyed doing word search and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include one son, Gregory S. Hutchins of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Susan A. Hutchins of South Royalton; one brother, C. Dexter Sutherland of Los Alamos, N.M.; and one sister, Norma Canfield of Wilmington, N.C.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Hartland Community Church, PO Box 27, North Hartland, 05052.
