A flood watch is in effect until Wednesday evening for the Woodstock area, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters are expecting close to an inch of rain, and that — combined with melting snow — could lead to sharp rises in rivers and streams. Ice jams are also possible, according to the NWS.
The NWS says the watch could change over to a warning later Tuesday night and that people in flood-prone areas should make preparations.
