Staff Report

Bentleys might not be closed for long.

An application was submitted for a liquor license at the restaurant’s address Tuesday, according to the Woodstock town clerk. On Tuesday night, the Select Board approved the application, submitted by Stonewall of Woodstock Corp.

Stonewall attorney and part-time Barnard resident John G. F. Ruggieri was contacted at Bentleys on Tuesday afternoon, but said he was not available for comment until after the Select Board meeting. Attempts to reach Ruggieri following the meeting were not successful.

Stonewall is listed as a Cambridge, Mass. company. It’s been incorporated in Vermont since Feb. 7.

On Monday, Mountain Trading Company announced it closed Bentleys and Fire Stones, effective March 3.
