RANDOLPH CENTER — Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the Day Funeral Home for Glenora M. Bean, 90, who died March 2 at the Menig Extended Care Facility in Randolph. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at the Randolph Center Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 10, 1923 in Randolph; the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (Lewis) Somerville.
A lifetime Randolph resident, she was married to Richard Bean, who died in 1997.
She was a nurse’s aid and had worked at Gifford Hospital, Tranquility Nursing Home, and the Eastern Star Home (now known as Joslyn House.)
Glenora had been a member of the PTA and Home Dem, and enjoyed knitting, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her son, Richard F. Bean, Jr. of Brentwood, N.H.; seven daughters, Margaret Brown of Braintree, Barbara Comette of West Brookfield, Geraldine English of Orangeville, Il., Deborah Jarvis of York Beach, ME., Vickie Cook of Marshfield, Rita Hull of Randolph, and Brenda Fullam of Brookfield; one sister, Nancy Manning of Sharon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, William Somerville and Weldon Somerville; and one sister, Doris Berg.
