Dorothy “Dot” Sawyer
BETHEL- Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Randolph for Dorothy “Dot” Sawyer, 89, who died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Mening Extended Care Facility in Randolph. There will be no calling hours.
She was born April 23, 1923 in Randolph the daughter of the late Sedric L. and Julia (Tetreault) Erskine.
Dot was a lifelong Randolph area resident. She attended Randolph schools. She was married to George Sawyer April 30, 1939 in Northfield. She had worked at Fritzel Toy Co., Savage’s Mill and George Billingham Wood Products before working as a seamstress at Green Mountain Glove Co. for 25 years. She loved animals, hunting, fishing and doing handiwork. Dot was a member of the Randolph Mother’s Club.
She is survived by a son Donald Sawyer of Burlington, 2 daughters; Carissa Smith of N. Randolph and W. Sue Morgan of Vernon, VT and Heathrow, FL, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, a brother Sedric Erskine, Jr. and 3 sisters; Betty Lewis, Ruth Hatch and Lois Ruggles.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Randolph. There are no calling hours.
