Firefighters Respond to Brush Fire In Taftsville

A half-acre brush fire threatened a few buildings in Taftsville before firefighters extinguished it Monday afternoon.

Hartford, Hartland and Woodstock fire departments put out the small brush fire off of Hartwood Way, a short gravel road that runs in front of the Applebutter Inn, up on a hill behind the Taftsville Country Store.

The call for the fire came in around 1:15 p.m. Firefighters had it under control by 2 p.m. thanks to Hartwood Way, which stopped the fire from spreading, according to Woodstock Assistant Fire Chief David Roy.

1:35 p.m.
The fire is reported to be on the Hartwood Road, in Taftsville on the Woodstock-Hartland town line. Woodstock, Hartland and Hartford firefighters responded. The fire was about a half-acre area as of 1:35 p.m.

Around 1:15 p.m. Woodstock Fire was called out to a brush fire across from the Taftsville Bridge in Woodstock. Check back for updates as they come in.
