RANDOLPH — Graveside memorial services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28 at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center for James H. Middleton, 85, who died Monday, March 25 at his home in Randolph. There are no calling hours.
He was born Sept. 16, 1927 in Wilmington, Del., the son of the late Elbert J. and Laura (Wisenberg) Middleton.
James was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington schools.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Following his discharge from the service, James attended the University of Delaware where he earned an Associate Degree.
He had worked for RCA, then as a field service representative in the electronics industry for many years. He moved to Randolph from New Jersey in 1996.
James enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, skiing and woodworking. He was a member of the Randolph American Legion Post #9. He was a loving father and was committed to spending time with his children enjoying the great outdoors as a sportsman and supporting their activities and passions. He lived life simply and provided a great example of how to live an uncomplicated life in tune with his natural surroundings.
He is survived by a son, James P. Middleton of Wyomissing, Penn; two daughters; Mary Ellen Middleton of South Pomfret and Mary Jane Davey of Atherton, Calif; and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Middleton.
