Hartland Man Arrested For Leaving Scene Of November Accident

A 25-year-old Hartland resident was arrested Thursday night for a November hit-and-run accident that severely injured a pedestrian.

David W. Hook confessed he drove away after hitting Dean Mason of Meredith, N.H. while Mason was refueling his Dodge truck in the breakdown lane of Route 5 near the Interstate-91 off-ramp the night of Nov. 17, according to state police. Mason suffered a broken leg and head injuries.

State police were looking for the driver of a mid-sized black sedan, which led to the investigation of Hook.

Hook will face charges of leaving the scene of an accident in Windsor County Court on July 2.
