One blogger is trying to figure out the snobbiest town in Vermont — and Woodstock is in the running.
Our fair town was one of four No. 1 seeds in a bracket called the 2013 Tournament of Vermont Snobbery, posted at noseupvt.tumblr.com. The other No. 1 seeds are Stowe, Middlebury and Shelburne.
“For years the residents of the Green Mountain State have touted their superiority to all others – healthiest, smartest, greenest, beeriest. But the question remained, who rules Vermont? Finally we shall settle the age old debate and determine what town looks down upon all others in Vermont,” says a post on the website.
It’s a NCAA Tournament-style bracket, where voters chose the snobbier town. Once voting wraps up, a winner is chosen.
Woodstock defeated Pomfret in the first round, receiving 88 percent of the vote to its neighbor’s 12 percent. Woodstock faces No. 6-seeded Norwich in the second round, which wraps up voting May 27.
So go to the website and vote for Woodstock, or vote against it, however you feel.
