A 43-year-old Bethel man was charged after confronting an excavating company on his property on Route 12 and Camp Brook Road, according to state police.

Geoffrey Gilman was charged with disorderly conduct and driving while intoxicated following an incident with Markowski Excavating, which was using Gilman’s property as a staging area while it worked on Route 12.

Gilman told the excavating company he did not want his property being used, then grabbed and pushed two employees before others stepped in, according to police. Gilman had been seen driving to the scene and it was determined that Gilman had been drinking.

Gilman was transported back to the Royalton Barracks. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 11.
