When: Friday, June 21, 11am – 2pm
Where: Dead River Company, 909 West Woodstock Rd., Woodstock

Dead River Company is hosting a community open house and barbecue at its Woodstock office to benefit the Woodstock Community Food Shelf.

On Friday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Woodstock office of Dead River Company invites customers and non-customers alike, to a community open house. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to benefit the Woodstock Community Food Shelf.

Gary Haines of Dead River Company stated, “We’re in customers’ homes everyday talking to them about energy saving solutions. So, it’s nice to be able to connect in a different way and also help support the local food pantry.”

The open house includes a free barbecue catered by Hog Heaven BBQ and enter-to-win prizes such as a gas grill and free heating fuel.

In addition, experts will be on hand to offer home heating and cooling solutions, to include education on converting a home’s central heating system to propane and the benefits and savings that it can provide.

Dead River Company is committed to giving back to the community through food and fuel assistance. The family-owned company was recently honored with the JoAnn Pike Humanitarian Award by the Good Shepherd Food-Bank in Auburn, ME, recognizing its commitment to helping in the fight to end hunger.

“Our motto is ‘Delivering on a Promise,’” said Gary Haines, Area Manager for Dead River Company. “Our employees live and work in the local community. This type of event is a meaningful part of delivering on a promise to support the communities that we’re so proud to serve.

Share the Care Day – Each year, Dead River Company sponsors a company-wide volunteer effort know as Share the Care Day. We provide employees with up to eight hours of paid time to participate in a volunteer effort with other employees across a market area, supporting our corporate charitable mission of meeting people’s basic needs in areas of food and fuel assistance.
