NORTHFIELD formerly of S. Royalton — Graveside services were held on June 24 at Riverview Cemetery in South Royalton for Esther M. Anzeline, 94, who died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield. There were no calling hours.
She was born April 23, 1919 in Lynbrook, N.Y., daughter of Warren and Jennie (Ryder) Abrams.
Esther graduated from Lynbrook (Long Island, N.Y.) High School in 1937. She continued her education attending Peoples College in New York and taking night courses at New York University.
She was married to William Anzeline in June of 1947 in Shelton, Conn.
She worked for International Nichol on Wall Street in New York and for Conde Nast Publishers in Greenwich, Conn. She later was an administrative assistant for the Near Eastern Languages Dept. at UCLA until retiring in 1976. The Anzelines moved to South Royalton in 1976. Esther was a member of the United Church of South Royalton. She was a past president of the United Church Women and the South Royalton Club. She was also a member of the South Royalton Women’s Club. She enjoyed art, music, writing poetry and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed studying genealogy.
She is survived by her son Peter Anzeline of Los Angeles, Calif, a sister Janice Zider of Barre, one grandchild and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband William Anzeline, a son Edwin Dix, Jr. and a sister Elsa Liebetruth.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home, Randolph.
