In the wake of another serious accident on Route 4 this year, Gov. Peter Shumlin is scheduled to have a private discussion at the Hartford Police Department with local town and emergency officials Thursday at 2 p.m.

Shumlin will discuss short- and long-term solutions with a group of Hartford and Woodstock officials including Hartford Fire Chief Steve Locke and Woodstock Town Manager Phil Swanson, according to Shumlin’s assistant Susan Allen.

On Thursday morning, two drivers were seriously injured in a head-on collision on Route 4.

It’s the fourth serious accident on the road this year — four people have died in accidents.

I believe it is time to review the original plans for completing the Route 4 bypass from Route 7 in Rutland to Interstate 91. Anyone know how to locate the original plans from the 1970′s?
