NORTH BENNINGTON — Funeral services will be private for Mrs. Vera B. Fuller, 87, who died June 22 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation where she had recently become a patient. Burial will be in the family plot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
Vera was born in South Woodstock on June 16, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Bagley) Barr.
She grew up in Woodstock where she attended local schools, graduating from Woodstock High School.
She married Carl E. Fuller Jr. in Woodstock on Oct. 26, 1945. Carl died on Nov. 26, 2010.
In 1961 they made their home in North Bennington on their farm, Twin Brooks Farm. They ran the farm together until retirement.
Vera was a member of the Shaftsbury Methodist Church and former board member of many farm organizations. She enjoyed tending to her gardens, knitting and needlecrafts. Her family has always been the focal point of her life. After they retired, Carl and Vera enjoyed wintering in Florida and traveling throughout the United States.
She leaves her son Richard Fuller and wife Julie of Pulaski, N.Y., daughters Sandra Kirker of Binghamton, N.Y., Carlene Thompson and husband Gary of Arlington, Kathy Humm and husband Gerald of Barrington, R.I., grandchildren, Jason and Melanie, Amanda, Nathan, Kimberly, Katie, Jamie, Wendi, Ashley; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She leaves behind her loving cat, Miss Kitty, who gave her much pleasure in her last years.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Earl and Stewart Barr.
