GMHA’s Chef’s Night Event is coming Monday, July 29 and will showcase a very strong restaurant lineup. Many new businesses have signed on this year to support the efforts of GMHA and to delight the attendees. A culinary delight, Chef’s Night is a great reason to trade in those riding boots for some leather sandals or saddle shoes and spend a magical evening under the huge tent sampling some of the finest creations the Upper Valley has to offer.

Restaurants, caterers and beverage producers committed to the event include A Catered Affair, A to Z Cakes, Baba-A-Louis Bakery, Bentleys, Castle Hill Inn, G Housen Distributors, Hanover Inn, Harpoon Brewery, Kedron Valley Inn, Keeper’s Café, Melaza, My Brigadeiro, River Stones, Singleton’s, South Woodstock Country Store, Smuttynose Brewery, Farm for City Kids, The Downtown Grocery, Vermont Wine Merchants, Vermont Farmstead Cheese, Windsor Station, Pie and the Daily Grind.

Now in its sixth year, Chef’s Night has been hailed as “the most exciting social event in the Woodstock area.” Local area chefs, restaurateurs, caterers and purveyors of the freshest and finest foods, will offer tastings of their specialties from the exotic to the every day. Local microbreweries and wineries will also join with samples of their products. Do not be fooled into believing you will leave in need of dinner, as the sheer number of restaurants will overwhelm your taste buds and satisfy your hunger.

This year’s equestrian selection will include a very exciting Dressage presentation and Pairs Stadium jumping. The dressage discipline is considered the highest expression of horse training showcasing a horse’s natural athletic ability and willingness to perform. The Pairs Stadium jumping will involve teams of a junior and a senior rider jumping a stadium course for the best combined score. The riders will be pulled from our esteemed local group of very accomplished athletes. Those wanting to be a part of the action will be able to buy into the jumping syndicates and share in the excitement of owning a winning jump team.

Guests include equestrian and non-equestrian enthusiasts from all over the Upper Valley and GMHA members from near and far. Attendees will be able to view the equestrian presentation from the event tent while sampling some of the finest epicurean delights in the Upper Valley. Whether horse enthusiasts or not, guests can enjoy the elegance, beauty and agility of the animals combined with the skill of the riders.

The event runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29 under the tent on the grounds of GMHA in South Woodstock. Purchase your tickets at
