A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 11 a.m. in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock for Ernest H. Chamberlin, 92, who died July 21 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct. Rev. Beverly Anderson will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
Ernest was born in Woodstock on April 26, 1921, the son of Ernest and Ethel (Chase) Chamberlin.
Ernest graduated from Woodstock High School in 1939. He spent his entire life living and working on the family farm on Church Hill in Woodstock. Ernest also worked 10 years for Shiretown Hardware in West Woodstock and 18 years for the Woodstock Highway Department.
He enjoyed 30-plus years of going to Bear Camp with “the boys.”
Ernest is survived by his wife Glenna (Hickory), his children; Sue Rogers, William, Ethel Davis, Ernest, Nelson, Everett, Scott, Robert, Lindy Fleming, Carol Hart, Pam Novak, and David Sawyer, 21 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter Linda Holden.
